As Time Goes By

It doesn’t take very long before Outlook fills up with a lot of stuff. With today’s big hard drives there’s plenty of room to gather information in the calendar and organize client email into folders. Mama’s Outlook data file is almost 500 megabytes (MB).

To find out how big your Inbox or Calendar is now, right click any folder and go to Properties. On the General page, look for Folder Size.

Disk space may not be a problem in a small office or home business. (Technical term: SOHO) However, in many corporate offices there just isn’t enough space on the email server to give everyone as much as they want. Think about it: 300 MB x 1,500 employees equals 450,000 MB, or 450 gigabytes (GB).

That’s a lot of storage!
