What is the sum of the product sales if you look at the Eggs, only?

 

The SUMIF function calculates the sum based on your criteria. In this example, the criteria is the product name: eggs.
 

Try This: SUMIF

1. Name the Ranges

Select the Products: B1 through B58.

Name the Range: Product

 

Select the Revenue: E1 through E58.

Name the Range: Q1sales

 

2. Add a formula to Cell E59.

Add a label to cell D59: SUMIF eggs

Select cell E59.

Go to Formulas -> Math and Trig. Select SUMIF.

Enter the Range: Product

Enter the Criteria: eggs

Enter the Sum_range: Q1sales.
