The HLookup Function

The previous example demonstrated the VLookup function. "V" is for vertical. The VLookup finds the answers in the columns. The HLookup function searches for the answers in the rows.

 

Try It: Create the Reference

Open the Rainfall 2007 spreadsheet.

Insert a blank Spreadsheet.

 

Add the Labels as shown:

A1: Rainfall

A2: Conditions

Add the data as shown, too.

 

Select the Range: A1 through F2.

Name the Range: Conditions.

 

This Named Range will be the rows that you use in the HLookup sample.
