Working with Templates

By default, Microsoft Excel saves your spreadsheet in the new xlsx format. A template is a different format. A template opens a copy of your form, timesheet, or calculations, The new sheet is ready to go: formulas and formatting.

 

Try it: Change the File Type

Go to Save as Type.

Select: Excel Template (*.xltx).

 

What Do You See? Microsoft Office saves all templates in the Document Themes folder.

 

How Do You Use A Template? A new, blank spreadsheet or document opens the Normal template. You can open your own template:

Go to Office-> New.

Select: My Templates.

Office ->New ->My Templates

Office ->Save As ->Template
