Database Tools -> Edit Relationships ->Join Type

Define the Join Type

There are three ways to define the Join properties: INNER, LEFT Outer and RIGHT Outer Join. These options are available if you double click a join or go to Edit Relationships. Click on Join Type.

Inner join: Only include rows where the joined fields from both tables are equal.

Left outer join: Include ALL records from 'tblCustomers' and only those records from 'tblMovieRented' where the joined fields are equal.  The means start with all of the customers and look up the customers that have a receipt in tblMovieRented.

Right outer join: Include ALL records from 'tblMovieRented' and only those records from 'tblCustomers' where the joined fields are equal.  This means start with the receipt and look up the customerID that matches in tblCustomer.
