Unbound Controls

Some controls do not need to be bound to a table. You can use an unbound text box to display information that you do not need to store.  A calculated control is another example of a Text Box that isn't bound to a Control Source.

Try It; Create a Calculated Control

Open the sample Split View form in Design View.

Go to Form Design Tools ->Design.

Create a Text Box.

Select the unbound Text Box and go to the Properties.

Go to the Control Source and click on  the three-dot builder to create an expression.

Form Design Tools ->Design -> Properties
