Go Live with Microsoft
Access
Can you create web pages that have data entry forms? What are the options for creating a web form? How do
the web pages link to your database tables?
Microsoft Access 2007 uses SharePoint to
link a web page to a database. Your users don’t need to install
Access. They see the data from your tables in their browser. Whatever
is typed into the web form goes into the tables: live, in real time.
You can publish your site to SharePoint and
continue to use the forms and reports in Microsoft Access if you
wish.
SharePoint uses web 2.0
formats. Microsoft Access 2007 exports a list, or XML, view of your
tables. This allows two different file
formats-web 2.0 and Microsoft Access- to exchange information.
