Arrange All

Say you had three (3) documents open at once (multi-tasking!). You can set up Word to display three windows, one on top of another, if you wish.

Try This, Too: Arrange All

Go to View -> Window.

Select Arrange All.

What Do You See? Three documents will open in three windows. Each document can be scrolled and viewed independently.

Very good.
