Device Manager Windows Vista stores information about your hardware in the Device Manager. There is a listing for Network Adapters. The network card is identified by brand name. When you double click the name of the adapter, you can review the properties.   Network properties are protected by security. You will be prompted for an administrator's name and password before Windows Vista will continue. Start->Control Panel ->System and Maintenance ->Device Manager
