Driver Details A device driver is a software interface written by the hardware manufacturer. Drivers translate Windows function calls into code the hardware can handle.   A program, such as Outlook, calls Windows for permission to access the Internet. Windows, in turn, validates that request and gives the command to the network card. The network card then translates the message from Outlook into packets that are delivered to the Internet.   Device drivers are developed and tested specifically for each version of Windows. Look in the Network Properties for the Driver Details.
