Start -> Control Panel -> Security->Windows Defender The Windows Defender Microsoft Windows Defender scans the files on your computer looking for spy ware and other malicious programs. Defender can be scheduled to run once a day, or real time: 24/7. The program will alert you if any bad code is identified and take action to quarantine the mal-ware.   New spies and pests are invented all of the time. Windows Defender is set up to automatically check for updates each day, too.   Try This: Display the Status Go to Start ->Control Panel ->Security. Select Windows Defender.   What Do You See? Windows Defender should indicate the results of the last computer scan.
