Big Time!

E-mail can be much more than rich text. Microsoft Outlook uses Word as the editor, so everything you can do in Word can be used in an E-mail message. Our goal is to create an E-mail message that looks as inviting as a web page: color, graphics, and hyperlinks, of course. ;-)

Before you begin….What kind of E-mails are you sending? If you can format the words big, bold and colorful, you are using Rich Text. If it looks like an old typewriter, then you are using Plain Text. Outlook has a third option: HTML. HTML means Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the standard for web pages on the Internet.

Try it: Select the Default Format

Open a new message and go to the Options Ribbon. Look for HTML on the Format group. Select HTML.
