Compatibility

Microsoft Excel 2007 offers many rich, creative features. However, many of these options are not supported in earlier versions of Excel. For example, Excel 2000 cannot "see" the Icon Set formatting because the Icon programming simply isn't there in the old Excel software. Previous versions of Excel used Lists, which Excel 2007 doesn't use. That capability is now available as Tables.

 

You may get a Compatibility message when you save your Excel 2007 work. You can also check the compatibility with the Office menu.

Go to Office ->Prepare.

Select Compatibility Checker.

 

What Do You See? The summary will indicate which new features are not compatible with older versions of Excel. If you want to keep the old functions, you can Copy to a New Sheet, then Continue.
