Where Should You Save Your Data Backup?

In a small business or home office, you can save your archive to a memory stick, CD, or on your hard drive.

The default location for Outlook is buried deep in your personal profile settings on the hard drive. Saving to the C:\ drive is OK as long as you create a backup copy. Keep in mind if the C:\ hard drive fails, you lose your Outlook data as well as the archives.

Memo to Self: In many corporations and government networks, the policy is to discourage people from saving things to the C:\ hard drive. The data should be saved on the server, where there are redundant drives and nightly backups.
