Opening the Archives

Time goes by, and you have been good about archiving to your personal folder. Suppose a letter arrives requesting information on a government project that you manage. Under the Freedom of Information Act, you are required to respond. But the contract was proposed months ago. How can you get into the archive folder and forward the data?

To open the Archive in Outlook, go to File on the menu bar and select Open and choose Outlook Data File. You will be asked to browse to the location of your Archive. When you find it, double click on the file and you will be returned to Outlook.

You may need to View->Navigation to see the Archive collection. Now you can look through your old Calendar and Inbox.

When you are done with the Archive, you can right click the archive folder and select Close.
