Home -> Number -> Format Cells

Our goal is to subtract the Start Time from the End Time. An appointment that goes from 9 AM to 5 PM is an 8 hour day.

You can format the numbers to make the math easier. For example, 5:00 PM would be 17:00 hours in hospital or military time.

Now, the equation would be: =EndTime - StartTime, or

=17:00 PM -  9:00 AM, or

=8 hours duration
