Windows Readyboost
Windows is
always hungry for more memory. The operating system is not bound to
just the physical memory, RAM installed on the motherboard. You can
create additional virtual memory on your drive. This is also called
a page file.
Windows
Vista can use the memory on a Flash drive as an extra, or expanded
Memory Cache. Flash memory is extremely fast.
Try This: Use Windows ReadyBoost
Insert a
Flash Memory stick into the USB drive. You should be prompted with
the AutoPlay options. If the Flash drive is compatible, you can
choose the Windows ReadyBoost.
Microsoft recommends 1 to 3 times
the amount of RAM for this ReadyBoost. For example, if
you have 1 GB of physical memory (RAM), you should set aside 3
GB on the Flash drive.
