Working with Spreadsheets, part two

Working with data in a spreadsheet

Making selections
  • Selecting Cells: Click on a cell to select it

    • Type "January" in cell A1, press TAB.

    • Type "February" in cell B1, press TAB.

    • Type "March" in cell C1, press TAB.

  • Selecting Ranges: Drag to select a range (block) of cells.

    • Select A1 through C1

    • Drag the labels to D2

    • Drag the labels back to A1

  • Selecting Columns: Click on the A column letter

  • Selecting Rows: Click on the 1 row number

Formatting text and data in a cell
  • Select the cell you want to edit

  • Select a tool from the formatting bar: bold, italic, underline, align left, align right, center, justify, etc.

  • Try it another way: go to Format on the menu bar, Select Cells.
